AMSTERDAM – De troepen van de Syrische president Bashar al-Assad hebben de afgelopen week 2 ballistische raketten van Iraanse makelij afgevuurd op posities van de rebellen. Dat melden medewerkers van het Amerikaanse leger tegenover CNN. Het gaat om raketten voor korte afstand van het type Fateh A-110. Deze zijn veel accurater dan de Scud-raketten waarvan Assads strijdkrachten veel gebruik maken. De Fateh heeft een bereik van omstreeks 200 kilometer.
