Occupied Jerusalem: Israel has advanced a project for 942 more colonisthomes in east Jerusalem closer to construction as part of a new fast-track plan to tighten its grip on the territory. Palestinians want to establish a capital in Occupied east Jerusalem and say any Israeli construction there undermines their claims. The Interior Ministry says a government planning committee moved the project to the advanced stage of asking contractors to submit bids to build them. Once a bid is awarded, construction can begin. Palestinian boy hospitalized after Jerusalem attack

Police are reportedly investigating the attack. TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma’an) — Police said ultra-Orthodox youths attacked a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in Jerusalem late Monday, Israeli media reported. Israel’s Ynet news site said the boy sustained a head injury and was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. KARACHI, Pakistan –  Police say gunmen have wounded a prominent Sunni cleric and killed his three guards and his driver in an apparently sectarian attack in southern Pakistan. Police official Imran Shaukat says the vehicle with Auranzeb Farooqi came under attack on Tuesday as the cleric was passing through the heart of the port city of Karachi. Farooqi leads Ahle Sunnat-Wal-Jamaat, a small political party. JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel upgraded a college in a West Bank Jewish settlement to a university on Monday, reflecting a determination to keep control of the enclave in any peace deal with the Palestinians. A SAUDI Arabian liberal writer has been arrested for making comments on his Twitter account that are allegedly insulting to Islam, family members say. Turki Ahmed was arrested on Monday on orders of Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdel Aziz, who was tipped off by a religious organisation, they said.
