RAMALLAH, (PIC) – The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Studies (PCPS) has warned that many prisoners with serious health problems are facing death in light of their exposure to medical neglect in Israeli jails, calling for providing them with appropriate medical care.

In a statement, director of the center Riyad al-Ashqar described the prisoners with serious health conditions as “living martyrs,” affirming that they suffer from medical neglect and are not provided with proper health care.

Ashqar said there are more than 700 prisoners with health problems, and 150 of them suffer from serious issues, such as cancer, kidney failure, heart problems and muscle atrophy.
