Day 232 Update: At least 45 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Massacres in Rafah, Nuseirat, Jabalia

Israeli forces continued to pound Palestinian civilians in southern, central and northern Gaza with aerial bombardment, drone strikes and artillery shelling throughout the day and evening on Saturday.

Medical sources reported that the ongoing occupation bombing of several areas in the Gaza Strip led to the death of at least 45 citizens since this morning.

This is despite the International Court of Justice on Friday ordering Israel to immediately stop its military operations and any other movement in the Rafah Governorate, which might inflict on the Palestinians living conditions that could lead to their complete or partial physical destruction.

The court stressed the necessity of keeping the Rafah crossing open, to enable the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. The court also ordered that the State of Israel, in accordance with its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, take concrete measures to ensure that any investigative or fact-finding committee has access to the United Nations investigation into the genocide accusations against it without any hindrance.

But instead of ceasing the attacks on Rafah, Israeli forces continued their daily massacres of Palestinian civilians in Rafah and throughout the Gaza Strip.

In northern Gaza, occupation artillery bombed the western areas of Jabalia camp, coinciding with the ongoing incursion of occupation mechanisms into the camp for two weeks.

Three civilians were killed and a number of others were injured Saturday evening in an Israeli occupation bombing on the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupation aircraft targeted the Al-Najma roundabout area in the Shaboura camp in central Rafah, killing three civilians and wounding others.

In a separate attack in Rafah, a child was killed, and others were injured, as a result of an occupation bombing that targeted a house north of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening.

Local sources reported that occupation warplanes bombed a house for the Qishta family near Saddam Junction in the Khirbet Al-Adas area, north of Rafah, which led to the death of a child and the injury and loss of others.

In central Gaza, 6 Palestinians, including several children, were killed Saturday evening by bombs dropped by Israeli occupation warplanes on the marketplace in Nuseirat camp.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression on land, sea and air against the Gaza Strip since October 7, resulting in the death of at least 35,903 citizens and the injury of 80,420 others, with many more bodies under the rubble that haven’t been able to be recovered yet.

Day 232: Israeli Missiles, Shells, Kill Dozens In Gaza

 Published on: May 25, 2024 at 22:25

On Saturday, Day 232 of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in the devastated Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles and shells killed and injured dozens of Palestinians in several parts of the coastal enclave.

Medical sources said that four Palestinians were killed and many were injured when the army fired a missile at an apartment in the Nouri Building, north of the Nusseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

The army also fired many missiles and shells at areas around the Power Plant in central Gaza, striking homes and buildings, while Israeli military helicopters fired dozens of live rounds at Palestinians, fleeing bombarded areas, east of Deir Al-Balah.

In Gaza City, the army fired many missiles and shells, including a missile that struck a home in the Daraj neighborhood, killing three Palestinians and wounding many others, while rescue teams and the locals continued to search for potential victims or survivors.

Many Palestinians were also killed and injured when the army fired many artillery shells and barrages of live rounds at Sheikh Ejleen, Tal Al-Hawa, and Zeitoun, in Gaza City, while sounds of explosions were heard and dense smoke was seen, south of the city.

Media sources said that Israeli tanks fired many shells around the University College of Applied Sciences, and Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza city.

They added that ambulances and rescue teams are facing enormous difficulties in reaching the bombarded areas due to massive destruction and ongoing Israeli bombing.

The army also fired many missiles and shells at various parts of Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza, in addition to the eastern areas between Deir Al-Balah, in central Gaza, Khan Younis and Rafah, in the southern and southmost parts of coastal enclave.

Despite a binding order from the International Court of Justice to stop the bombing and invasion of Rafah, Israel not only rejected it and called it “outrageous, morally repugnant and disgusting” but also intensified the bombing and invasions and said that the accusations that it is committing genocide in Gaza are “false,” while continuing to bomb the Palestinian families across the coastal enclave.

Furthermore, Egypt said it will allow UN aid through the Kerem Shalom (Karem Abu Salem) Crossing after Israel destroyed and occupied the Rafah Border Terminal between Gaza and Egypt, earlier this month.

Israel has now killed at least 35,857 Palestinians and injured more than 90,293, the majority of whom are women, children, and seniors, in addition to the thousands who remain missing, largely under the rubble of bombarded homes and buildings, in several parts of the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
