West Bank: Israel Abducts 25 Palestinians Since Monday

From Monday evening until Tuesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces abducted at least 25 Palestinians from the West Bank, including a wounded person and former detainees.

The Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Society reported that the abduction operations were concentrated in the Nablus governorate, while the rest of the abductions were distributed among the governorates of Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Qalqilya.

When Israeli soldiers invaded Palestinian villages and towns to conduct kidnappings of so-called ‘wanted’ Palestinians, they engaged in widespread raids and abuse, specifically in the Balata camp in the city of Nablus, and severe beatings. The soldiers also engaged in threats against detainees and their families, in addition to the destruction and sabotage of Palestinian homes.

The Prisoner Affairs’ Authority indicated that the total number of Palestinians taken prisoner by Israeli forces has risen since the seventh of last October to more than 9,385, and this total includes those who were abducted from homes, those who were taken captive at Israeli military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage by Israeli forces.

The total number of abductions among women reached 320 – (this statistic includes women who were arrested from the territories of 1948 (what is now ‘Israel’), and abductions of women who were abducted from the West Bank. This figure does not include the numbers of women who were abducted from Gaza).

The number of abductions among children reached at least 650, and among journalists after October 7, the number reached 84 journalists, of whom 51 remain in detention, including 6 female journalists, and 14 journalists from Gaza .

Since the beginning of the Israeli war of genocide against the civilian population of the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, administrative detention orders have reached more than 7,170 orders, including new orders and renewal orders, including orders against children and women.
