Day 262 Update: “Dozens Killed As Israel Continues To Bomb Gaza”

On Monday, day 262 of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in the destroyed, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued the bombing and shelling of various parts of the coastal enclave, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians.

Casualties were reported in Israeli bombings of several areas in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.

In Gaza City, the army fired a shell at many Palestinians in the Shati’ refugee camp, in the western area of the city, killing at least three, and wounding many others.

The soldiers also killed and injured many Palestinians who gathered near a center distributing some food and basic humanitarian supplies in the refugee camp.

Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force continued the firing of missiles at Sheikh Ejleen and several areas, southwest of Gaza City.

Five Palestinians, including three children, were killed, and many were injured, when the army fired a missile at a home in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, in central Gaza.

In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired missiles at Palestinians near Bani Soheila town junction, east of the city, killing ten and wounding dozens.

It is worth mentioning that the army buried sand mounds many Palestinian ambulances at the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis, similar to what it previously did in its invasions and destruction of various hospitals across the Gaza Strip, including Nasser Hospital, Al-Amal Hospital, Shifa Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan Hospital.

In Rafah, in the Gaza Strip’s southmost part, several tanks and armored vehicles invaded areas in the southern part of the city, while firing barrages of live rounds and many shells, killing at least two Palestinians and wounding many.

The soldiers then detonated and demolished many homes in the Saudi neighborhood, in the western part of the city.

Al-Jazeera English has reported that Rafah city center is now deserted after most Palestinians fled the city due to the constant Israeli bombing and the continued fighting between Palestinian fighters and the invading Israeli forces.

Al-Jazeera quoted a Palestinian, Haitham Abu Taha, 30, who said that “the Israeli military quadcopter drones are mercilessly targeting anyone walking in the streets,” and added “We’re afraid to move because we fear being killed. There is no more water or food. We are totally trapped.”

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a recenter report that the Israeli army has expanded the use of its small drones (Quadcopter) to drop bombs or shoot to kill Palestinians with mounted machine guns.

The Israeli army said it is continuing what is called “intelligence-based targeted operations” in Rafah, and alleged finding large amounts of weapons and munition.

Israel has now killed at least 37.626 Palestinians and injured more than 86.098, mostly women, children, and elderly, in addition to the thousands who remain missing, largely under the rubble, in various parts of the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
