Soldiers Shoot A Palestinian In Tulkarem

On Saturday evening, Israeli soldiers shot a young Palestinian man near the Jabara military roadblock, south of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank’s northwestern part.

Raed Yassin, the head of the Emergency Unit of the Tulkarem office of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the medics rushed the wounded Palestinian, 47, to Thabet Thabet Hospital in the city, after the soldiers shot him in the thigh.

Yassin added that the medics also treated many Palestinians for the effects of tear gas inhalation after the soldiers fired many gas bombs at Palestinian cars waiting at the roadblock.

The attacks took place after the army deployed many military jeeps in the area and fired gas bombs and concussion grenades to force the Palestinians to leave.

It is worth mentioning that the roadblock is on a main road that is a vital southern entrance of Tulkarem and links the city with many surrounding villages and the Qalqilia governorate.

The road is also the alternative street that Palestinians have to take when the army closed the Ennab military roadblock, east of Tulkarem.
