The Israeli Salem military court on Sunday sentenced the Palestinian media student Asem Mustafa al-Shanar, from Nablus province, to eight months in jail.
Speaking with PIC, al-Shanar’s family said the Israeli court sentenced their relative to an eight-month prison term, a fine of up to 2,000 shekels, and an 18-month suspended term.
According to the family, the verdict was read out following exhaustive deliberations at the court hearing.
The detainee was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces some five months earlier. His brother, Montasser, was arrested shortly after and transferred to administrative detention, with neither charge nor trial.
