Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Yousef Adeis, said on Wednesday that 110 Israeli attacks were launched against al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of July.
Adeis added in a press statement that 90 of these attacks were documented in the period following the closure of the Mosque on 14th July.
The Palestinian Minister asked Palestinians in the West Bank to perform Friday prayer in public squares and called for shedding light in Friday sermons on the ongoing Israeli violations at al-Aqsa Mosque.
Since 16th July, Jerusalem has been witnessing violent clashes between the Israeli police and Palestinian worshipers protesting against the metal detectors erected at the entrances of al-Aqsa Mosque.
The metal detectors were removed on Tuesday in preparation for installing new smart cameras in the site.
