New corridors and iron barriers were erected by the Israeli authorities on Monday at Bab al-Asbat outside al-Aqsa Mosque.
Jerusalemite worshipers and Islamic Awqaf employees continue their sit-in outside al-Aqsa Mosque for the 10th day in a row in rejection of the metal detectors installed at its entrances.
According to Jerusalemite sources, the sit-inners still refuse to enter the Mosque for worship until the latest security measures are reversed, including the installation of surveillance cameras.
On Monday morning, the Israeli police tried to quell a sit-in by Jerusalemite protesters at Bab al-Majlis, one of the main gates of al-Aqsa Mosque, and ordered them to leave but they refused.
