Violent clashes broke out at dawn Tuesday in Anabta town, east of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank, after Israeli soldiers attacked residents and kidnapped two Palestinian activists, including a senior Hamas official.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that young men threw stones at the soldiers, who responded by firing tear gas grenades at them.
The sources added that the soldiers broke into and ransacked the house of Hamas official Mohamed Sabha, who spent a total of 18 years in Israeli jails, and took him prisoner.
Another citizen was kidnapped by the soldiers from his home in the town.
The family of Sabha told the PIC that he was released only a few months ago from an Israeli jail.
In Jenin, an Israeli military force stormed at dawn Kafr Ra’i town in the south and kidnapped a young man called Mustafa Abu Akel from his home.
The military force also set up a road barrier at the main entrance to Kafr Ra’i and raided other homes.
