The Palestinian ministry of health in Gaza has expressed deep concern that the Israeli occupation army persists in targeting its ambulance crews as they provide medical help for protestors rallying in border areas, east of the embattled Strip.
A spokesman for the ministry denounced the silence of the international community and its institutions on Israel’s violations of the rules of the international law and the fourth Geneva convention regarding the protection of ambulance crews during work.
He affirmed that such international passivity would encourage Israel to commit more crimes against paramedics and civilians in Gaza.
Israeli soldiers on Friday afternoon showered young people protesting the blockade on Gaza as well as ambulance crews with tear gas and opened fire at them, which led several of them to suffer injuries.
