Hundreds of prisoners enter day 37 of open-ended hunger strike

About 1,800 Palestinian prisoners are continuing their open-ended hunger strike, which most of them started 37 days ago to demand basic rights.

The hunger strikers’ primary demands include more frequent and lengthy family visits, better incarceration conditions such as improved medical care, access to telephones and an end to solitary confinement and administrative detention without charge or trial.

For its part, the hunger strike media committee warned on Monday that the health conditions of the hunger-striking prisoners reached a critical stage and called for quick and tangible moves to save their lives, especially after receiving confirmed news about hospitalizing many of them.
