The US President Donald Trump arrived in Bethlehem city on Tuesday morning. He was received by Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas amid tightened security measures.

“I would like to reiterate our commitment to co-operate with you in order to make peace and forge a historic peace deal with the Israelis,” Abbas told Trump after welcoming him in his palace.

Trump’s visit, which lasted from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., included a semi closed meeting between Trump and Abbas followed by a press conference.

Hundreds of PA policemen and security forces were deployed in order to ensure security on all roads leading to the city.
