HEBRON (Ma’an) — Israeli forces set up several checkpoints throughout the village of Dura in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron on Friday evening.
Locals told Ma’an that Israeli forces erected the checkpoints near the Khursa and Tarama areas of southern Dura.
Sources added that Israeli forces stopped Palestinian vehicles and checked the passengers’ IDs, while obstructing movement in and out of these areas.
An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an she would look into reports on the closures.
Palestinian communities are routinely subjected to arbitrary road closures by Israeli military forces for purported “security reasons,” an act which rights groups have denounced as amounting to collective punishment.
