Hongerstaking dag 34

About 1,600 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday entered the 34th day of their open-ended hunger strike to demand basic rights.

According to the hunger strike media committee, the leadership of the prisoners is firmly managing the hunger strike and the talks with the Israeli competent authorities on their demands despite the critical health stage which the hunger strikers have reached.

The committee stated in a press release that the Israeli government delegated a few days ago the Israeli prison service (IPS) and the head of the Shin Bet to work on ending the hunger strike before US president Donald Trump’s visit to the region.

It added that the IPS and the Shin Bet were instructed to respond to most of the prisoners’ demands if necessary.
