Karm Abu Salem to be closed on Sunday due to Jewish holidays

Munir al-Ghalban

Director of Karm Abu Salem crossing Munir al-Ghalban said that Israeli occupation authority (IOA) informed the companies working at the crossing that it will be closed on Sunday, March 12 because of Jewish holidays.

In a statement to the PIC, Ghalban said that the IOA will open the crossing exceptionally on Friday for the entry of quantities of cooking gas and fuel.

Karm Abu Salem crossing is the only pathway for entering goods and humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip in light of the Israeli closure of all other crossings except for Erez crossing which is allocated for the travel of passengers. It comes under repeated closure, sometimes for Jewish holidays and others for security reasons according to Israeli allegations.
