Palestinian child dies in house fire in Ramallah
RAMALLAH (Ma’an) – A two-and-a-half year old Palestinian child was burned to death in a house fire that broke out in the village of Beitin in the occupied West Bank district of Ramallah on Friday.
According to the Palestinian Civil Defense, Mahmoud Maamoun Abdulhafeth Arrar was killed after a fire was caused by what the civil defense suspects was a heater being used in the house.
Palestinian Civil Defense crews rushed to the home after receiving reports from locals that one of the village’s houses was on fire. Crews distinguished the fire, but were unable to rescue the child.
While the civil defense announced that investigations were ongoing regarding the incident, they called upon residents to take safety precautions while using heating systems during the winter.
