At least 20 Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) from the West Bank and Jerusalem at dawn Sunday.

The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the abduction of a Hamas activist from Qalqilya and another citizen from the northern Jordan Valley on allegations of involvement in anti-occupation activities.

The Israeli 0404 news website said the IOF misappropriated cash from Qalqilya’s eastern town of Azzoun and al-Khalil’s northern town of Sa’ir on claims that it is allocated to anti-occupation activities.

The IOF further stormed Kafr Thulth town, to the east of Qalqilya, and summoned the ex-prisoner Ali Shawahna to questioning. Shawhna was released just a few months earlier from Israeli jails, where he had served a 14-year-sentence.

An abrupt sweep launched by the occupation army on Jerusalem city at predawn time culminated in the abduction of 18 Palestinians.

The campaign targeted eight Palestinians from Silwan, four from al-Issawiya, three from Jabal Al-Mukbir, and three others from the Shu’fat camp.

Violent clashes rocked the Shu’fat camp, where the IOF attacked the Palestinian protesters with live rounds and teargas canisters.

A Palestinian protester sustained live bullet wounds while several others were left wounded in the attack.
