QALQILIA, (PIC)– The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested at dawn Monday a 60-year-old man in Qalqilia after brutally breaking into his home, the Palestinian Prisoners Society revealed.
IOF soldiers violently broke into Fathi Mahmoud Sawan’s home at 5 am and nabbed him despite his difficult health situation.
Earlier Sunday, Sawan’s son was also arrested.
Meanwhile, six other Palestinians were detained Monday in al-Khalil during an Israeli large-scale raid campaign.
Also in al-Khalil, clashes erupted after Israeli forces surrounded Tarek Ibn Ziad secondary school and started heavily firing tear gas bombs, leading to breathing problems among the citizens.
Along the same line, the IOF soldiers stormed agricultural lands and facilities along the road linking between Dura and al-Khalil, where they erected a make-shift military checkpoint, eyewitnesses said.
The sources added that a state of high alert was declared in the area as it witnessed last June the kidnap of three Israeli soldiers.
In Jenin, a military checkpoint was erected to the west of the city Monday morning, where passers-by were stopped and detained for several hours.
Vehicles were also searched at the make-shift checkpoint, which led to a traffic jam.
