On Thursday 23rd February, al-Aqsa Mosque was attacked for the second time by Israeli settlers at dawn. Seventy-one settlers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli policemen who arrested six Palestinians who were praying at the Mosque and closed its main entrances, according to the Defense Committee member Silwan Fakhry Abu Diab, during his statement to PNN.

Abu Diab also said that Israeli forces attempted to divide al-Aqsa Mosque, to control and to ‘judaize’ it.

Al-Awqaf director, Azzam al-Khatib, warned that these attacks worsen an already difficult situation, “al-Aqsa Mosque is in a critical condition due to the calls of Israelis to break into it. The Israeli government must put an end to these continuous attacks.”
